Colchester Canine Massage
Fiona George
Clinical Canine Massage is a results driven therapy which aims to see improvements in your dog within 1-3 sessions.
Massage rehabilitates muscular injuries seen as strains, trigger points and myofascial pain and it also supports orthopaedic conditions like arthritis and hip dysplasia. I work with dogs of all size, age and discipline. I have a homely clinic in Rowhedge for clients to come to a quiet relaxing space and I also do home visits. Whatever works best for your dog.
I studied on the intensive 2-year Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme, externally accredited by LANTRA. I am a proud member of the Canine Massage Guild and work best practice and comply with the Veterinary Act 1966 and Exemptions order 2015. I am fully insured and I keep up to date with my professional development by completing a minimum of 25hrs of CPD a year. Additional training with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre has included: Facilitated Stretch Ventral Apsect Techniques Advanced Deep Tissue Massage Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Neuromuscular Facilitation
All my clients have a full consultation following a signed vet consent form and after a gait and posture analysis, I palpate your dog and then tailor a massage treatment to meet the individual needs of your dog. I support the 5 Freedoms and will always put your dog’s welfare first.
I love my job and I enjoy getting feedback from my clients after therapy sessions. Frequently, I am told that their dog’s mobility has improved, they are less stiff and coping better with arthritic pain. They also say that their dogs are happier, more relaxed and have their ‘spark’ back.

McTimoney Animal and Equine Touch practitioner
Julie Watson
McTimoney animal chiropractic is a gentle non-invasive treatment that can help to reduce pain and dysfunction of the musculoskeletal system, restoring movement, soundness and performance.
The technique predominantly focuses on the alignment of the spine and pelvis aiming to restore correct function of the skeletal system, nervous system and surrounding soft tissue. The vertebrae in the spine have a natural range of motion to allow the body to move normally. Restrictions occur when the vertebrae become fixed within the range of motion creating dysfunction which can lead to abnormal movement patterns, muscular discomfort and nerve impingement. Signs that your dog may benefit from treatment include crying out when moving or being touched, difficulty climbing up or down stairs, struggling to get into/out of a car, reluctance to exercise, stiffness or pain following exercise or any changes in behaviour, performance or temperament.
I am fully insured and since qualifying in 2017 I have been registered with the McTimoney Animal Association (https://mctimoneyanimal.co.uk) and A.H.P.R (https://www.ahpr.org.uk), completing 25hrs CPD each year. I work under the Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966) and Exemptions Order (2015), and veterinary consent is required before treatment.
Once veterinary consent has been granted a treatment session involves taking a detailed case history, dynamic and static assessment, and palpation of the animal before tailoring the session according to my findings. An aftercare plan will then be discussed, this may include additional treatment sessions or adaptations to the animals exercise schedule or management if necessary.
If you think your animal may benefit from treatment please do get in touch for a chat or message me on 07762 208866 or email jwanimaltherapies@gmail.com.
